Should my home be titled in my trust?
For many trust-based estate plans, yes.
If the goal is to avoid probate, the home often needs to be deeded into the trust or otherwise coordinated with the trust through a transfer-on-death deed or other planning tool.
Putting a home into a revocable living trust usually does not change your ability to live in the home, sell the home, refinance the home, or pay the mortgage. It simply helps connect the home to the estate plan.
