Can a trust protect beneficiaries after I die?
Yes, if it is drafted that way.
A trust can distribute assets outright, or it can hold assets in trust for beneficiaries. Continuing trusts may be helpful for young beneficiaries, financially inexperienced beneficiaries, beneficiaries with creditor or divorce concerns, or loved ones with special needs.
Trusts can provide structure, timing, protection, and guidance. The goal is not always control for control’s sake. The goal is usually stewardship.
