What if I own property jointly with a child or someone else?
Joint ownership can be helpful, harmful, or confusing depending on the facts.
Before changing a deed, we want to know who owns the property, how it is titled, whether there is a mortgage, whether there are tax consequences, and whether the co-owner is intended to receive the property at death.
Adding someone to a deed is easy. Unwinding unintended consequences can be the expensive part.
