Can assets be distributed immediately after death?
Sometimes, but often not right away.
The trustee or executor may need to gather information, confirm debts and expenses, coordinate taxes, value assets, review the estate planning documents, and make sure beneficiaries are treated properly.
Fast distributions feel good until a creditor, tax issue, or missed asset appears. Then they feel less good. Much less good.
