How long does probate take?
It depends on the court, creditors, assets, taxes, real estate, and whether family members or beneficiaries disagree.
Some probate matters are relatively straightforward. Others take longer because creditor periods must expire, court orders are needed, real estate must be sold, or additional information must be gathered.
Probate moves at court speed, which is not exactly Formula 1.
